Professional Experience

Brian started practicing patent law in May 1992 when hired by Steinberg & Raskin, a small New York City boutique firm practicing intellectual property law. Gradually, his responsibilities grew until he was responsible for maintaining patent prosecution docket including preparation and filing of patent applications in diverse fields, preparation and filing of responsive amendments, and conducting in-person interviews and appellate proceedings. In June 1999, Brian created a solo practice in suburban Long Island, New York to concentrate on developing a patent portfolio for an automotive technology development company. Shortly after Brian opened his practice, the practice grew by the addition of other clients in various manufacturing and development fields. Brian relocated his practice to north suburban Chicago in August 2010. He maintained his client base and further increased patent docket for existing and new clients. Brian provides litigation support, opinion drafting, and client development.

 

Education 

Brian commenced his formal education at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1989. His coursework included mechanical engineering, specialized aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering, advanced mathematics, computer science, and laboratory studies. In 1991, Brian received his Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Brian also received a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois in 2016. His Masters course work included intellectual property asset management, engineering management, electromagnetic compatibility, reliability engineering, and intellectual property law.
